On May 12, 2009, The National Republican Senatorial Committee betrayed its mission, betrayed Republican voters, and betrayed the Reagan legacy.
The NRSC sided with an establishment candidate, Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, in a Senate primary against young conservative leader, former Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio.
Republicans across the country were outraged by this action, which is only the latest betrayal of grassroots conservatives by the out-of-touch GOP elite in Washington.
The word went forth among conservative activists: Do not give money to the NRSC. The current chairman, Sen. John Cornyn, must resign. His replacement must pledge to keep the committee neutral in contested primaries. Let Republican voters -- not party elites -- choose Republican candidates.
This is where the conservative grassroots rebellion begins. When the NRSC asks you for money, tell 'em:

UPDATE: On June 27, eight Republican members of the House voted "yes" for Nancy Pelosi's top legislative priority, the Waxman-Markey energy tax bill. Until these eight RINOs are terminated -- by retirement or by defeat in the GOP primaries -- then the National Republican Congressional Committee deserves the same answer:
NOT ONE RED CENT!

Come up with a bumper sticker that says "ANYONE BUT CHARLIE CHRIS" and I"ll put it all my cars and trucks.
ReplyDeleteI ordered a sticker for Rubio here weeks and weeks ago but have not recieved.... my money was deducted from my account - but no stickers.
ReplyDeletePlease: No compromising with anyone. repeal the health care debacle,keep the bush tax cuts or lower,cut the taxes on small business. Find some way to lower the crazy deficit, my grandchildren's grandchildren will be paying for this foolishness, and get rid of those RNC people who refuse to help the Tea Party candidates. If they had gotten behind all of them we would probably have a few more seates in the Congress. Congratulations on your outstanding victory
